Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement Strategy
Canberra: National Disability Insurance Scheme

This report from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an easy to read document (Strategy) to advise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with disability and their families about the support and services that are available to them. The Strategy explains how the NDIS plans to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people helped create the Strategy and it is designed to:

  • respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture
  • show understanding of the ways Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people do things
  • do things in new and better ways.
