Aunty Mary’s Story: a guide to vision loss aims to raise awareness about the free services and support offered by Guide Dogs NSW/ACT to assist people with vision loss. The resources feature Aboriginal Elder, Aunty Mary Hooker, a Bundjalung woman, who has impaired vision. She tells her story about losing her vision due to diabetic retinopathy and how after seeking assistance from Guide Dogs NSW/ACT she has been able to regain her independence.
