This report, released annually, presents the Close the Gap Campaign Steering Committee’s assessment of the Australian Government’s progress towards achieving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health equality under the Closing the gap strategy.

The report comprises three parts:

  • Part one: progress over the life of the Closing the gap strategy, examining health outcomes as revealed by data in the six years since July 2009.
  • Part two: new insights into health service usage by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, examining data on health services use from the 2012–13 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health survey and other sources.
  • Part three: priorities in the next term of Parliament sets out the Campaign Steering Committee’s ideas for reinvigorating the Closing the gap strategy and other action for the next Australian Government.

The report includes key recommendations for consideration.
