Delivering essential services to remote Aboriginal communities
Perth: Office of the Auditor General Western Australia

This report provides an assessment of how well the Western Australian (WA) Department of Housing delivers power, water and waste-water repair and maintenance services to selected remote Aboriginal communities through the Remote area essential services program.

It focused on the level and quality of these services provided to eligible remote communities in WA, and how the Department of Housing managed their delivery, and its coordination with other agencies. As part of the audit 27 remote communities were visited.

The scope of the audit did not include the provision of all services to all remote communities or their sustainability.
