This poster aims to assist health practitioners to diagnose and manage otitis media in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
The poster compares labelled images of healthy ear drums to images of ear drums with different variations of otitis media, including:
- otitis media with effusion
- acute otitis media
- acute otitis media with perforation
- chronic suppurative otitis media
- dry perforation.
The poster provides information about each variation of otitis media to assist health practitioners with:
- appropriate questions to ask patients and their families/carers
- important things to note for diagnosis
- advice to give patients and their families/carers
- appropriate treatment and management regimes.
