Incidence of insulin-treated diabetes in Australia 2000-2011
Canberra: Australian Institute of Health and Welfare

This publication reports on the latest available data on new cases of insulin-treated diabetes in Australian including data for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

The information was gathered from the National (insulin-treated) Diabetes Register (NDR) and examines the incidence of each type of insulin-treated diabetes – type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes.

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) has published several reports from earlier NDR data, however, the results in this report cannot be compared with previous publications because the methods relating to the supply protocol and processing of the data have changed considerably.
