Let’s talk about success: exploring factors behind positive change in Aboriginal communities
Canberra: Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research

This paper outlines the findings from a research study of the factors that enable Aboriginal organisations to drive positive change in their communities. It draws on interviews with leaders of successful Aboriginal organisations to explore:

  • how they define and assess success
  • what they see as the factors behind their achievements
  • the challenges and critical turning points they have faced
  • what enables them to sustain their success.

It also explores the distinctive ways in which Aboriginal organisations work, and outlines some of the successful strategies they use in working with their communities.
