MJDF clinical approach
Alyangula, Northern Territory: MJD Foundation

This online video provides clinical education on Machado Joseph Disease (MJD) to health professionals.

The opening sequence has been described as a ‘powerful way’ to learn first-hand about symptoms of MJD from a person living with the disease. The video also presents the experiences of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and community workers who have extensive experience working alongside people with MJD.

The video describes symptoms of MJD, ranging from ataxia (the loss of full control of bodily movements) and vision disturbances through to fatigue and sleep issues.

It was produced by the MJD Foundation with funding from the Australian Department of Health.
