Pandemic (H1N1) Human Swine Flu [resources]
Canberra: Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing
The Human Swine flu resources include fact sheets and a poster designed to provide information about the infection and the vaccine to Indigenous peoples. The fact sheets highlight the greater susceptibility of Indigenous peoples to the swine flu and discusses the importance of vaccination. Topics covered include: what is the swine flu; who can access the vaccine; vaccine side effects; the cost of the vaccine; how to access the vaccine; and information for pregnant or breastfeeding women. The poster seeks to encourage Indigenous peoples to become vaccinated against the swine flu and emphasises the vaccine is free of charge. Indigenous artwork has been incorporated into the design of the fact sheets and poster and the language used is culturally appropriate for an Indigenous audience.
