Reparations for the Stolen Generations in New South Wales: unfinished business
Sydney: Parliament of New South Wales

This report summarises an inquiry by the Parliament of New South Wales into reparations for the Stolen Generations.

Key issues arising from the report are:

  • a voice for survivors
  • financial reparation
  • healing
  • restoring culture, language and identity
  • overcoming disadvantage
  • avoiding repetition of the past.

The report makes a number of recommendations to government to address the needs of those who have been affected by past forcible removal policies and practices, and provides a framework for the development and implementation of reparations for Stolen Generations survivors.
