Research priorities and policy-research interface – views of selected senior Aboriginal health policy makers.
Darwin: Cooperative Research Centre for Aboriginal Health

This report provides the insights of 12 senior Aboriginal health policy makers who were interviewed to establish the current need for research to inform the framing of the Cooperative Research Centre for Aboriginal Health’s (CRCAH) future research agenda. The respondents highlighted an improvement in overall research-policy translation, yet noted a significant lack of research-based evidence. Various strategies are suggested to maximise the impact of the CRCAH research agenda, including a more systematic engagement with policy makers to sustainably enhance policy design and practice. The outcome of this study is a system in which 12 different policy areas are ranked in order of importance to guide CRCAH’s future research.
