The Federal Government has announced that The Hon Warren Snowdon MP will be the Minister for Indigenous Health in the latest cabinet reshuffle. Mr Snowdon was the Indigenous Health Minister prior to the recent election and has now been reinstated in this position. Mr Snowdon also has cabinet responsibilities of Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Minister for Defence Science and Personnel. The announcement of the Indigenous Health portfolio was received positively across Australia after initial fears the portfolio had been overlooked. Several statements have been released in the media in support of Mr Snowdon, including a media release from the peak body in Aboriginal Health, the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO).
