Trends in hospitalised injury, Australia: 1999-00 to 2010-11

This report describes trends in the occurrence of injuries requiring hospitalisation in Australia from July 1999 to June 2011. It includes an analysis of the hospitalisation injury among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The report covers the following topics:

  • an overview of hospitalisation injury in 2010-11
  • trends in hospitalisation injury
  • trends in the severity of hospitalised injury
  • trends in the external causes of hospitalised injury.

Data is presented by age, sex, external cause of injury, remoteness of usual residence and Indigenous status.
