Professor Lisa Jackson Pulver, a Jewish Indigenous woman, was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in this year’s Queen’s birthday list. She was honoured ‘for service to medical education, particularly through the Muru Marri Indigenous Health Unit at the University of New South Wales, and as a support of educational opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.’

‘I am completely delighted’ said Professor Jackson. ‘This award acknowledges the work which has been done from Muru Marri and many others – which is beyond the call of duty and is not part of any job description.’

Professor Jackson is the Director of the Lowitja Institute, Co-Founder and Director of Muru Marri Indigenous Health Unit at the University of New South Wales and Advisory Board member of the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet.
