This booklet has been developed to provide Aboriginal Health Workers with information on blood-borne viruses. Specifically, the booklet contains information on hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), covering topics such as:
- transmission
- infection control procedures
- how to convey test results
- vaccination
- testing
- treatment.
Also included in the booklet is information on other resources and support available, as well as the contact information of relevant organisations. The booklet is appropriate for Aboriginal Health Workers and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners who work in both clinical and non-clinical roles.
