This is a series of short messages (podcasts) providing information about otitis media (ear disease). It was produced by the Brisbane Indigenous Media Association as part of the National Indigenous ear health campaign, Care for kids’ ears. The podcasts include explanations of otitis media and information on the symptoms, health and developmental consequences, treatment and prevention of the disease within a culturally appropriate narrative and delivered by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voice artists.
The Care for kids’ ears messages were originally aired on Indigenous radio station, 98.9fm, for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander listeners in south-east Queensland and were funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.
