CommDoc is an easy to navigate language tool developed for health professionals working in Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory.

The aim of the tool is to culturally enhance interactions with Aboriginal patients.

CommDoc provides audio translations of common terms used during medical consultations in different Aboriginal languages. The terms and phrases are in four major sections:

  • common terms
  • history
  • examination
  • body parts.

CommDoc was developed by the Northern Territory General Practice Education in consultation with Aboriginal people. clinic staff, doctors and cultural educators and interpretive services.
