Melioidosis and haemodialysis
Darwin, NT: Menzies School of Health Research

This video aims to raise awareness of melioidosis infection which can occur during the wet season in the Top End (Northern Territory).

The infection is particularly serious for people who have diabetes and kidney disease. In this video, kidney specialist Dr Jaqui Hughes from the Menzies School of Health Research explains why the antibiotics taken at the end of dialysis help prevent people from getting very sick with melioidosis.

This video is part two of a two part series. The first video discusses how to protect yourself from melioidosis.
