Moving forward together in Aboriginal women’s health: a participatory action research exploring knowledge sharing, working together and addressing issues collaboratively in urban primary health care settings.
Unpublished Doctor of Philosophy thesis, Flinders University, Adelaide
The thesis explored how the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal women within an urban Adelaide health care system could be improved. It utilised a collaborative qualitative research method. The research focused on how Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal health professionals could work within the parameters of the current health system to facilitate these improvements. The research highlighted the importance of finding practical ways of working together, respecting each other’s knowledge and dealing with difficult issues together.
