The Yarning about polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) booklet aims to provide Indigenous women with a culturally specific source of information about the condition. The 13-page booklet is divided by topic and includes information about:

  • the causes of PCOS and how it is diagnosed
  • the relationship between PCOS, hormones, and diabetes
  • emotional issues associated with PCOS
  • fertility issues and menstruation patterns
  • weight gain associated with PCOS and tips for eating healthy
  • other health issues related to suffering PCOS, such as hair and skin problems, issues with sleeping, and heart disease.

The booklet includes artwork by renowned Indigenous artist, Justice Nelson, and the images within are of Indigenous women.
